I have been using the Deuter Glide 35+ pack for the last month now.

I find the separate compartment for the shovel, saw and other misc avi gear to be very convenient. While the outer compartment is tight for a 320cm probe most other essentials fit quite nicely.

The pack is very light at 1600g, lighter then my 20litre Arcteryx pack! I normally don't like a large interior top loading main compartment in a pack, but with the wide opening and the double cinch closure I could keep snow out of the lower part of the pack pretty easily. I also used the upper part to keep my water bottle for easy access. On warmer days I used two 500ml water bottles and kept one in the outer mesh pocket on the side of the pack. The waterproof zippers and whistle as part of the chest strap system was a nice touch!

The bag fit very well and did not move on my back as I skied down in any condition.I did find the side mesh pockets would collect snow on those powder days.

I would only like to have larger straps and fasteners for ease of opening and closing with my gloves on.

The ski attachement was very quick and convenient! I could get my skis on in minutes and have the pack back on my back balanced and ready to go as if they skis weren't even there!

All in all a great pack for Backcountry day trips! You could probably even get away with it as an overnight bag!
