Hiking in Whistler with the parents - August 14, 2009

Words and photos by Lee Lau unless otherwise noted.

I took Mum and Dad up to Whistler to check out the alpine hiking opportunities and ride the Peak to Peak Gondola. What a spectacular day! The clouds stayed low in the valley while the sun shone high. Temperatures stayed cool and mum and dad had a wonderful hike.

We waited to get on the glass-bottomed Peak 2 Peak gondola

Mum wondering where the alpine flowers in the meadows are!

Dad and Mum then went up to the Peak and hike the High Note trail off the peak

Simply stunning views off the Peak and the High Note trail

Mum can still scamper down trails pretty fast!

Gee - I wonder where I learned to duck ropes?

I then forced the parental people to hike up the steep part of Highway 86!

Mum found the exercise enervating!

The highlight of the day! All - you - can - eat suckling pig BBQ and then dessert. Mum's genteel portion is on the left. My three dessert plates are on the right and top
