Blackcomb Slackcountry Ramble – Trorey and Pattison

>Words and photos by Lee Lau unless otherwise noted

We toured around around the Decker and Trorey Glacier. The wind had unfortunately come in warm and heavy rendering much of the meager alpine new snow slabby and craptastic. Isolated aspects skied OK. Joined in this tour by Stu and Graham. Sharon’s sore knee made bootpacking problematic so ended up glacierskipping then heading back via Disease RIdge.

Skies initially overcast then clear. Temps between minus 3 to minus 5. Winds moderate to strong to very strong from SW with SE gusts
