Okanagan Road Trip, May 2016

Okanagan Road Trip

May is a good time to ride in the Okanagan. It’s still cool and there is still some moisture in the trails. We were again kindly hosted by Johnny, Barb and Chevy, Rich Vigurs and his GF came for a day. We joined the Freedom Bike shop for the Thursday evening ride which was always awesome. We rode a trail in Summerland, Conkle and awesome rock slabs in Wiltse. We checked out Ted Tempany’s work on Knox Hill and we did a new loop in Rose Valley Reservoir.

For the city map click here. This is a great area for a quick spin if you’re on the road. It has 10 shared used trails and 2 dedicated to Biking. The Apex climb is steep and multiuse, you can also climb up the road. The newly designed Shale Trail is the recommended descent built by the city of Kelowna to keep mountain bikers on one dedicated fun descent. They did a good job!
