Kanarraville – Hiking in Utah

Trip Overview || Timpanogos || Capitol Reef || Escalante || Peekaboo and Spooky || Tropic || St George

We stayed in Cedar City hoping to get a rapid PCR test for our return flight into Canada. Alas not all Walgreens will do this. So while this continues, one needs to do some research to find a place that will complete a Rapid PCR test in time for your flight back to Canada. Cedar City is just north of Zion, kinda. As such there are hikes off the I-15, specifially in Kanarraville that resemble hikes in Zion without the crowds. The Spring Canyon hike at Kanarraville is an out and back hike on a narrowing canyon. It’s a popular hike as its close to Kanarraville, and was quite pretty. Another hike in Kanarraville that is likened to the Narrows in Zion is the Kanarra Creek Canyon Trail. We had to pay a fee to hike this trail, but funds going to the City. This hike follows the creek, there is a good chance you will get your feet wet, and ends at a waterfall. You can now go past the waterfall as the ladder has been replaced. Apparently the water is waist deep. Check out AllTrails for updates, they’re pretty good at that.

In Cedar City we stayed at the Best Western Plus – very nice hotel, ok standard Best Western Breakfast, and ate dinner at the Sizzler… yes… it was ok. We did not chose the Salad Bar. Even if it wasn’t Covid time I don’t think I’d go near that salad bar. Better than Cowboy at Bryce though… .

The following day we drove into Hurricane to get our COVID Rapid PCR test for our Wednesday flight home. It was either here or Las Vegas for the Rapid PCR test.

Did the tree create the slot? Or grow in the slot? Hmmmm.
