Okanagan Road Trip May 2023

May and October

We love to ride in the Okanagan and Spring and Fall is the best time to do this. In May I had an Aikido Seminar where a long time practitioner, Pat, was leaving after living here for at least 40 years to move to Saskatchewan to be closer to family. On the way to Summerland, we stopped in Merrit to ride the Info Center Trails. We then camped at Harmon Lake which we accessed off 5A and the Kane Valley Road.

After our Seminar we rode Myra Canyon/KLO Loop. Very important to check the water levels of KLO creek before doing this loop in the Spring as it runs very high… One the way south we camped at Chute Lake which we got to via the Gillard FSR and the Kettle Valley Railway which you can drive in this area. We then met Johnny Smoke at Three Blind Mice to do a shuttle. This was capped off with Beer and food at the Neighbourhood Brewery.

On our way home we stopped at some friends who just bought property west of Princeton and checked out access to Placer Lake for future reference.
